PURCHASING LAND FOR PLAYGROUND AT SCHOOL
The final request by the government in the process of receiving school recognition is to own some land for playground use. There are five small plots of land - some of which are now up for sale - within fifty yards of the school building. We have purchased the first plot of land and are now waiting to purchase the second plot!

PHASE V BUILDING PROJECT: ADDING CLASSROOMS TO THE SCHOOL
Currently, classes go up through the 5th standard. In order to provide education for 6th and 7th standards, additional classrooms are currently being built on top of the school. The $6,000 construction goal has been met! Additional donations will be used to pay for unexpected construction costs and furnishing the new rooms! The project will be completed by the start of this coming school year which begins on June 12th.

FOUR FROM IMMANUEL VISIT INDIA!
Four people visited the school, orphanage, house churches and cutting and tailoring centers in India in January of 2009. Check out the pictures by clicking HERE.

NEW COMPUTER AND SCIENCE LABS AT THE SCHOOL
While in India, a computer lab was installed in the school with five brand new computers. Many educational software programs were installed on each computer. Materials for a complete science lab were also purchased and set up.

Jesus says: when we help, feed and clothe the poor, we are helping, feeding, and clothing Him!

How Can You Help?

100% of donations go directly to the ministry in India!!!

SPONSOR A CHILD
Consider sponsoring a school child for just $15 a month! This amount would pay for the child's education, supplies, uniforms and shoes! It also helps to pay for the classroom teacher, physical education teacher, Telugu teacher and principal salaries. Our future goal is to be able to serve meals to all the children! With additional school child sponsors and pledges, we can make that dream come true! Currently, 104 of the 155 children have sponsors.

PLEDGING
Consider making a 1-year pledge commitment to the India Ministries. Current pledges range from $5 to $145 per month. This amount pays for building operations, monthly orphan and school child support, teacher, warden, staff and director salaries, fuel and driver charges for Novahu's travels to outlying villages and other misc. expenses.

"CHANGE A LIFE" AQUARIUM
The "Change a Life" aquarium is located in the main hallway of the church leading to the sanctuary. Monies put in the aquarium are used for a variety of needs. Help change a life in India by dropping your loose change and bills into the aquarium.

HOW CAN I MAKE A DONATION?
If you are a member of Immanuel Church, place your donations in an envelope marked:
"INDIA" and place it in the Sunday worship offering, or in the "Change a Life" aquarium.

If you are not a member of Immanuel Church and you would like to make a donation towards this wonderful ministry, please email Terri Tybring,, Administrator of Ministries, or call: 262.334.2886, ext. 22 for more information.

Novahu is bringing the Gospel to the people in the remote villages outside of Kakinada, India. He has been training men and women to become lay pastors, who once certified establish "house churches" in different remote villages. 25 men and women have finished all of the requirements for certification and several of those students have already started their own "house churches". The great need now, is to pay a $30/month salary to these pastors and build facilities to house the growing congregations as well as the cutting and tailoring centers. It would cost around $5,000 to purchase a piece of land and build a quality facility.

SCHOOL FOR THE POOREST OF POOR CHILDREN
The new school year will begin on June 12th. We expect the number of students to increase from 155 (who were enrolled for the 2008-2009 school year) to 175! Through Immanuel's support, every child receives a free education, school supplies and clothing. We hope to someday be able to feed all of the children with a warm meal each day.

NEW CLASSROOMS TO BE ADDED TO SCHOOL
In order to provide space for 6th and 7th standard students, additional classrooms are currently being built on top of the school. See "What's New?" for more information.

NEW COMPUTER AND SCIENCE LABS
In January, a computer lab was installed in the school. Many educational software programs were installed on each computer. Materials for a complete science lab were also purchased and set up in January. The children are LOVING these new labs!

SPONSOR A SCHOOL CHILD
For just $15/month, you can pay for a child's education. This covers the cost of books, supplies, two uniforms, socks and a pair of shoes. It also helps to pay for teacher salaries (which are between $30 and $55 a month). Currently, 104 of the children have sponsors.

      Essential Job Training

Cutting and Tailoring Centers

Click HERE for more photos of this exciting ministry!

THE TAILORING CENTERS
At this time, there are 4 tailoring centers located in "house churches", people's huts, and facilities affiliated with Joyful Journey Ministries in different outlying villages. Since the ministry's inception in the fall of 2005, over 300 women have completed the training program! Once the training program has been completed, these women are able to find a job in a tailoring center or begin their trade in their own villages. Poverty is being removed, at least to some extent, especially among the women in this program. Novahu says, "In one way, it is a social work. In the other way, it is promoting the love of Jesus and the Gospel."

THE 6-MONTH TRAINING PROCESS

First, the women learn different types of stitching with needles by hand. Then they learn how to cut clothes on newspapers, because they cannot directly experiment on material. Next, they will learn how to run the sewing machines with their legs. The students will make doll-size clothes before making ladie's blouses, petticoats and children's dresses. If they stitch one blouse they would receive fifty cents or possibly one dollar.

EMROIDERY MACHINES PURCHASED
Two embroidery machines were purchased allowing women to do more detailed sewing work. These machines are in addition to the 20 regular sewing machines already purchased.
